Hemophilia Walk

Hi Everyone,

My two youngest sons Ethan and Jordan have a blood disorder called Hemophilia.

This bleeding disorder causes an average injury to potentially become very dangerous since their blood does not clot the way our blood does. They are active in sports and live full, active, busy lives thanks to the newest state of the art Hemophilia treatments! These treatments have only been possible due in part to the generous donations by people like you! So we need your help!

I’ve decided to make a difference by participating in this year’s Hemophilia Walk! So we are raising funds to help find a cure for this blood disorder that they are afflicted with. Any donation large or small is appreciated.

NHF's Hemophilia Walk is a nationwide event that raises funds and awareness about hemophilia and other bleeding and clotting disorders. Funds raised will help find better treatments and cures for bleeding and clotting disorders and to prevent the complications of these disorders through education, advocacy and research.

Old Fashioned Cherry Pie Recipe

I am really not a fan of fruit pies since most are simply the fruit and the crust. But the best Cherry Pie i have ever had has a wonderfully fluffy whipped center and is so simple to make it is even NO BAKE!
Here is the recipe, try it for yourself and let me know what you think.




Ingredients
1 (9 inch) prepared graham cracker crust
1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 (21 ounce) can cherry pie filling

Directions
In a medium mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese until light and fluffy. Fold in whipped topping and blend until mixture is smooth. Spread into graham cracker crust and spoon pie filling over top. Cover with plastic wrap and chill 2 hours before serving.

Remembering my Gram

My grandmother was a wonderful woman, i have always admired and looked up to her. Any time anyone said "you're just like your Grandmother" i filled with pride. My gram was a hard working woman, she was a great cook and an even better baker. She was funny and had a very sarcastic, quick wit. I was born to teenage parents so inevitably my mother moved in with my fathers parents since they were too young to support me on their own. My grandparents took my mother in as one of their own and cared for her and i and my siblings that came along later. Since i was very young i remember being extremely close to my gram, i spent as much time with her as i could. My gramps still grumbles (or fake grumbles:)) that he never got to sleep next to his wife when i came along because i always wanted to sleep in bed with my gram. My fondest memories of her are of her and i laying out on the chaise lounge in the summer on the back porch and her reading to me and singing old songs to me. I still cant listen to "How deep is the ocean" and "you'll never know" without crying or smiling (depending on my mood) and thinking of her. She took me everywhere with her, she taught me everything i know about the golden era about the fashion and the clothing and we loved to watch old movies together. She just loved Marilyn Monroe and she sparked my love for her as well. She indulged me (some may say too much so). She taught me how to enjoy the silence, a good book, a great old movie, a sweet song, tasty treats, a handsome man, and life in general. I used to laugh at her strange old fashioned slang ex. when she called my high school boyfriend a "dim bulb" and now i get teased my my kids and my younger brother for using lots of the same old fashioned phrases. She never left the house without her lipstick on and i in turn never like to be caught without it either, she would hold up everyone while she reapplied her lippy before a picture just as i do now. If there is anyone that i can say has been a true influence on my life and made me who i am today i will say it was my gram more than anyone else. She treated me like a princess, she made me feel beautiful and special and loved.

I love Q & A's. i am always the first one to reply to those forwarded e-mails that ask all types of random questions, and i have always been the go to w/ all my friends for advice. so now's my chance to be DEAR ABBY. anything you want to know about me (ex. what nationality i am?) or you need advice (ex. what should i do about such and such or so and so?) on or even random questions you just want a silly answer to (ex. if you could be any animal what animal would you be?) ok so im still working to get this blogging thing right.........

im such a spazz when it comes to technical things like computers so im working on it. it will be a slow but steady process but when i get it it will end up being a swell blog. thanks for being patient with me ;) kisses

its so freezing here today well as freezing as it can get in california :) which means anything under 60 degrees. but it is pouring as well w/ flood watches and mudslides there was even a tornado watch yesterday. plans for this weekend will probably be home watching movies and relaxing. been feeling under the weather to so wil just get some rest.
